How It Works: Step 1
Preparing for Your Test
The accuracy of your search analysis depends on the quality of your input. Our platform simplifies this setup process, allowing you to easily upload your data and define the parameters of your experiment.
Query Sets
Provide the list of search terms you want to test. This is typically a simple CSV file with one column containing all the queries. You can upload multiple sets representing different user segments or query types.
Evaluation Sets (Ground Truth)
This is your "answer key." An evaluation set is a CSV file that maps queries to the URLs of documents or products known to be relevant. This data is crucial for calculating objective metrics like nDCG and Precision.
Connecting Your Search Engine
TestMySearch seamlessly connects to your existing search infrastructure. You can define multiple configurations to test different settings. For example, you can create:
- A "Baseline" configuration that represents your current production settings.
- An "Experiment" configuration with a change you want to test, like boosting a specific field or enabling a new feature.
Our platform supports various engines like Solr, Elasticsearch, Coveo, and more, providing a unified interface to test them all.
